Our proposal is born with the desire to be a form of "poor craftsmanship, papier mache - often relegated to the world of childhood and that of the carnival celebrations - the dignity of a real art.

The idea of \u200b\u200bcreating an installation of papier-mache sculptures began to take shape in the autumn of 2008. We were inspired by important personalities, who lived in different eras and cultures, which had in common as an artist: Artemisia Gentileschi, Frida Kahlo, Emanuele Luzzati, Amedeo Modigliani, Pablo Picasso, Egon Schiele.

Our artistic journey was a journey through la trasformazione della carta manipolata in solida scultura, la sperimentazione dell’uso di carte di qualità diverse e della pittura ad olio. Ma è stato anche un viaggio personale dove abbiamo incontrato limiti e resistenze che ci hanno spinto a trovare nuove soluzioni attivando la creatività e l’immaginazione.

Lavorare individualmente, ma allo stesso tempo insieme, ha permesso una condivisione di conoscenze tecniche e di esperienze e un confronto tra punti di vista diversi che hanno aperto nuovi orizzonti creativi.

Questa esperienza ci ha messo in contatto con il compito dell’artista: rendere visibile a se stessi e agli altri un’emozione, un pensiero, un’intuizione.

Laboratory of Art Therapy Workshop

We were invited to participate in an interdisciplinary research project sponsored by Andrea Perri Art Therapy Association Onlus "NATARAJ" that fits into the landscape of the projects funded by the Province of Catanzaro. The project will involve some guys from the shelter for drug addicts of the Centre of Solidarity and Calabrese will be held through a laboratory of performance art that involves expressive movement, writing a text, working with papier mache, fabrics, colors and painting to create four large three-meter tall puppets.
